Come and visit beautiful Bacchus Marsh, an area renowned for its scenic beauty......

The town is nestled in a fertile valley between The Lerderderg and Werribee rivers and is close to Exford Weir and Pykes Creek Reservoir. Enter Bacchus Marsh along the Avenue of Honour, which is considered one of the most significant remaining elm avenues in the world.

Throughout the Avenue of Honour there are many local produce stalls with a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables available all year round.

There are lots of walking tracks and beautiful scenery in the Lerderderg Gorge and Werribee Gorge, with easy access to them.

Visit several nearby National Parks for a Picnic, Buskwalking, Rock Climbing or Camping. Sample and purchase fresh local produce such as strawberries, cherries, apples, pears, peaches and nectaries. Experience wine tasting and fine dinning at the wineries or enjoy a relaxing meal or just a coffee at one of our Cafes

Visit Farms and go Horse Riding, Fishing and Swimming. Why not head out to the aerodrome and take a Joy Flight to see the beautiful fertile valley of Bacchus Marsh from the Air! Geelong Gliding Club also offer trial flights from the local airfield.

Bushwalk along the Werribee and Lerderderg Rivers and take in the scenic lookouts. Nearby Exford Weir and Pykes Creek Reservoir offer BBQ, fishing, swimming and boating for the water sport enthusiasts.

About Us

Many years ago Bacchus Marsh Caravan was operating as a Roadhouse known as "The Cherry Inn". There is some belief that it was the first roadhouse in Victoria. With numerous truck drivers making it a regular spot to stop and have a meal and a sleep, on their trip from Melbourne to Adelaide and Adelaide to Melbourne, some started to park caravans on site to sleep in, instead of their trucks. Many years ago the truck drivers didn't have the comfortable bunks in the trucks like they do today. With more and more puyying caravans their, the roaaadhouse soon evolved into a caravan park. With such a sucessful business the Cherry Inn Roadhouse quickly became known as "The Chery Inn Caravan Park".

Bacchus Marsh Caravan Park is now a family operated park currently owned by Peter & Christine Crotty. Peter & Christine became proprietors in 1997 and 13 years on, they are still enjoying it as much as they did when they first stepped into the caravan park industry.

Since 1997, the park has undergone many improvements including updating facilities; BBQ's Dump point and many more enhancements. In addition to the already existing cabin accommodation the indtroduction to our "Deluxe Cabins" in the tourist section of accommodation, proved to be more than popular. Recently we remodeled the current "Deluxe Cabin" design and installed a larger more facilitated version, known as the "Superior Deluxe".

In addition to the cabin accommodation, we also offer sites for those travellers with their own caravan, camper, motorhome or tent.

Due to the recent drought, our "grassed" sites unfortunately suffered immensely and the once green grass dried out a little and became somewhat patchy. With new products introduced to the industry, we have installed "site mats" to visually enhance the sites as well as continue to provide suitable sites for our continually growing visitors.
